Local Attractions
When you finally become bored, relaxing on your patio, eating and drinking can be so wearing, taking a cooling dip in the plunge pool, a deck chair under the willow by the lake…………..You may feel the need to explore!
We have cycle hire for the energetic. There are miles of beautiful tracks known as chemmins, we are in the heart of farming country, so you may meet an occasional tractor, or perhaps a couple of deer, you may decide to cycle to the village for a spot of lunch. There are plenty of options.
Depending on your ability, we may have a horse to suite you. There are riding stables locally, if we can’t meet your needs.
If you are booked with a “non fishing “party, day tickets may be available, all tackle supplied.

Places Of Intrest
There is so much to see and do; it is hard to make a list without leaving some super places out. We can supply various leaflets/books to help you decide where to go.
PERIGUEUX - Administrative centre of the Dordogne. A fabulous mix of ancient and modern architecture. Set on the river L’Isle. A shop-a-holics paradise! Wednesday is market day
LIMOGES - World famous for its fine porcelain. Well worth a look round.
SORGES - The Truffle Centre of Perigord.
NEGRONDES - Famous for Pate de Fois Gras.
JUMILHAC LE GRANDE - A stunning chateau with breathtaking views. Why not enjoy a drink in the square next to the fountain. Don’t forget your camera!
VILLARS - Grotte de Villars, prehistoric caves, full of stalagmites and stalactites, and cave paintings. Definitely not to be missed! Café and gift shop on site.
NONTRON - Pretty town, famed for making all sorts of knives. Quaint and picturesque.
BRANTOME - My favourite place. Super riverside restaurants, as the guide books put it,”Charmingly draped along both banks of the river Dronne” Brantome Abbey was founded in 769, and rebuilt in 16th century. Riverboat tours available. Drive along the riverbank to Bourdeilles (about 15mins) and be stunned by the cliffs and caves. Canoe hire for the brave, or perhaps a look round the chateau. Whatever your choice, you wont be disappointed.
THIVIERS - Our closest town, lots to offer. A really good market every Saturday.
Plenty of shops and banks with cash points.
